he present work is meant to be an instrument of incursion into the sphere of insurance and reinsurance, going, along its eight chapters, with their related subchapters, from the description of the fundamental elements specific to the approached field of study, to the deepening of some structural issues and, in certain contexts, to the transposition, at applicative level, of the theoretical aspects treated. The volume, result of the experience accumulated within the academic activity in the matter, is addressed to the teachers and students interested in such discipline, as a thoroughly drawn up guide, as well as to those preoccupied for assimilating knowledge in this respect, both as clients, potential contractors of an insurance policy of any kind, and as specialists in insurance and reinsurance, providing the same with information coherent and consistent enough to influence, in a favourable direction, their decision-making capacity.
