Banat is a historical multicultural and interethnic region in Central Europe. Some of the first European civilizations named it home; throughout centuries, it has been an expression of European cohabitation. Unsurprisingly, astronomy, as the oldest science found its way into the lives of its inhabitants. This book, the first of its kind written in English, tries to collect key examples from prehistory to contemporary times to sketch a picture of the remarkable achievements of our ancestors. Written and edited by experts with unique views on the subject (archaeologists, archeoastronomers, history investigators, and engineers) it is a valuable resource for scientists and the general public.
It reflects the editors\' humble attempt to popularize this region and its cultural astronomy to the world and pave the way for further research.
