Zodiac

Zodiac. A Noir Novel from România Dark and Compelling. - Quentin Bates   Four murders in four different locations, four strânge marks on the victims - and the only thing they have in common is that all of the victims were all born in the little spa town of Voineasa in the Romanian sub-Carpathian region. The fast-paced narrative switches between the streets of Bucharest and the wooded hills of Voineasa. The novel cleverly blends well-worn serial killer tropes with an inside look at a secretive team of state-supported asassins. This story line has a chilling plausibility in a former totalitarian state, but what kept me reading was the tense interplay between the two main investigators: trained killer and reluctant loner Sergiu Manta and police inspector Marius, who might be getting a little too close to the truth. - Marină Sofia, Findingtimetowrite, regular contributor to Crime Fiction Lover.
